The agreement was signed by His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State, Nigeria, and Dr. Mustafa Madkour, Chairman and CEO of MADKOUR Group. The agreement aims to achieve cooperation in the management, implementation and operation of the power generation, transmission and distribution system in the state. The Memorandum Of Understanding was signed at the Government House in Owerri on Saturday, June 1, 2024, as a result of a study of the current situation and serious discussions between the two parties. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In his speech during the signing ceremony, which was attended by senior government officials, Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma commented on this partnership, saying, “The need for partners has become essential as electricity generation, distribution and transmission are very expensive and the state cannot do it alone.” The Governor affirmed that through the partnership with MADKOUR, we will be able to generate, transmit and distribute our own energy by January next year (2025).” <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
