في إطار التزامها بتوسيع نطاق أعمالها في السوق الأفريقية ودعم التنمية المستدامة في القارة الافريقية، وبناء على توجيهات الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسى رئيس الجمهورية بضرورة قيام الشركات المصرية بفتح مجالات تعاون غير محدود مع الأشقاء فى دول القارة، وقعت مجموعة مدكور، الرائدة محليا وإقليميا في مجال الطاقة والمقاولات والحلول الصناعية، مذكرة تفاهم مع حكومة ولاية إيمو النيجيرية لتطوير شبكة الكهرباء بالكامل في الولاية. تُعد هذه الاتفاقية إنجازًا هامًا لِكل من مدكور وحكومة ولاية إيمو.
وقع الاتفاقية سعادة السيناتور هوب أوزوديما، حاكم ولاية إيمو بدولة نيجيريا والدكتور مصطفى مدكور، رئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة مدكور. تهدف الاتفاقية لتحقيق التعاون في إدارة وتنفيذ وتشغيل منظومة الانتاج والنقل والتوزيع للكهرباء بالولاية. وفي إطار هذه الاتفاقية ستُساهم مدكور بتحديث وتوسيع شبكة الكهرباء في الولاية لِتُواكب احتياجات النمو السكاني والتوسع الاقتصادي، بهدف حل مشكلة انقطاع التيار الكهربائي المزمن في الولاية.
تم توقيع مذكرة التفاهم في قصر الحكومة في أوريري السبت 1 يونيو 2024، وكان هذا نتاج دراسة الوضع القائم ومناقشات جادة بين الطرفين.
في كلمته خلال حفل التوقيع، والذي حضره كبار المسؤولين الحكوميين، قال الحاكم السيناتور هوب أوزوديما “إن الحاجة إلى شركاء أصبحت ضرورية لأن أعمال توليد الكهرباء وتوزيعها ونقلها مكلفة للغاية ولا يمكن للولاية القيام بها بمفردها”. وأكد الحاكم أنه من خلال الشراكة مع مدكور، سنتمكن بحلول يناير من العام المقبل (2025) من توليد ونقل وتوزيع طاقتنا الخاصة”.
وردًا على ذلك، شكر الدكتور مصطفى مدكور، رئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة مدكور، الحاكم على الثقة في قدرات مجموعة مدكور، وأكد قائلا “نحن متحمسون للغابية لهذا التعاون الاستراتيجي مع ولاية إيمو، والذي سيمكننا من استخدام خبراتنا الواسعة في قطاع الكهرباء لتحسين البنية التحتية وتعزيز كفاءة امدادات الطاقة في الولاية”.
تُعد هذه الشراكة بين مدكور وحكومة ولاية إيمو خطوة هامة نحو مستقبل أفضل. من خلال العمل معًا، ستتمكن الولاية من تطوير شامل لشبكات الكهرباء، مما سيُساهم في تحسين حياة المواطنين وتعزيز التنمية الاقتصادية.

MADKOUR Lights Up Imo’s Future: A Strategic Partnership to Develop the Entire Electricity Network in Imo State, Nigeria
In line with its commitment to expanding its operations in the African market and supporting sustainable development on the continent, and adhering to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives on fostering unlimited areas of cooperation with African countries, MADKOUR Group, a leading local and regional player in the fields of energy, EPC contracting, and industrial solutions, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Imo State Government of Nigeria to revolutionize the development and management of the state’s electricity network. This landmark event marks a significant milestone in the development of IMO state’s electricity network.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State, Nigeria, and Dr. Mustafa Madkour, Chairman and CEO of MADKOUR Group. The agreement aims to achieve cooperation in the management, implementation and operation of the power generation, transmission and distribution system in the state. Within the framework of this agreement, MADKOUR will contribute to updating and expanding the electricity network in the state to meet the needs of population growth and economic expansion, with the aim of solving the chronic power outages in the state.
The Memorandum Of Understanding was signed at the Government House in Owerri on Saturday, June 1, 2024, as a result of a study of the current situation and serious discussions between the two parties.
In his speech during the signing ceremony, which was attended by senior government officials, Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma commented on this partnership, saying, “The need for partners has become essential as electricity generation, distribution and transmission are very expensive and the state cannot do it alone.” The Governor affirmed that through the partnership with MADKOUR, we will be able to generate, transmit and distribute our own energy by January next year (2025).”
In response, Dr. Mostafa Madkour, Chairman and CEO of MADKOUR Group, thanked the Governor for his trust in MADKOUR capabilities.
