Eng. Magdy El-Badry, President of the National Electricity Technology Company, said that 30 MW had already been installed and the remaining 40 MW had been implemented at the Burj Al Arab station, which has a total capacity of 70 MW, which started in early 2017.
Al-Badri noted that all supplies had arrived at the station site, in addition to the arrival of four machines from the countries of Finland and Norway. The capacity of each system is 10 MW, with an investment of approximately 468 million pounds.
He also claimed that, the last quarter of 2020 will witness the completion of the implementation of the remaining 40 MW.
Moreover, He said that the organization is currently in the process of preparing to enter the market volume in the coming years, and there are negotiations with a number of entities, and we will soon be acquiring a number of projects.
The President of the National Electricity Technology Company stated that the total capacity of the company in the Egyptian market is approximately 115 MB and 40 mega of diesel.
Furthermore, Al-Badri has stated that the National Electricity Technology Company is ready to contribute to the investment in Siemens stations to any investment related to electricity, generation or distribution.
Finally, he pointed out that the company has customers in Wadi Al-Natroun, specifically about 40 customers in the empty valley region, where a 46-kilometer-long electrical line was installed, with a voltage of 22 kV, to cover 7,000 acres with electricity instead of diesel because it costs a lot of money.
The installation was made in cooperation with Behira Co. For Electricity Distribution, in which E Badry confirmed that the National Electricity Technology Company is the owner of the line for which there is ongoing periodic maintenance; pointing out that the company has customers inside and outside Borg Al Arab.
He said that the company was about to participate in a number of solar energy projects; however, due to the 49 piastres additional fees, the company was forced to refrain from joining those projects. Thus, he demanded whoever is responsible to reconsider that decision.
