Within the context of the orientation of the Egyptian oil sector towards the implementation of major national projects, a contract was signed between the owner of the Egyptian Company for the Development of Ethylene and its Derivatives (ETHEDCO) and the general contractor (Petrojet + SAIPEM Italy) for the construction of the first polybutadiene production plant in Egypt with a capacity of 36,000 tons per year.
Eng. Saad Hilal, Chmn of the Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company, witnessed the signing of a contract between chemist Abdel Majid Hegazy, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of ETHEDCO, and on behalf of the Alliance, Eng. Walid Lutfi, Chairman and Managing Director of Petrojet, and Mr. Giorgio Elia, SAIPEM.
The new project is an expansion of the chain of petrochemical plants that Petrojet has successfully introduced and operated as the national executive authority of the Egyptian oil industry.
As well as the expansion of the productive and important partnership between Petrojet and SAIPEM in major projects both within and outside Egypt.
