Today, a meeting was held in the Delta Electricity Zone, where all precautions were taken by the electricity sector to tackle the Coronavirus.
The meeting concentrated on the progress of the implementation of the 500 kV Kafr El Sheik Transformer Station project.
The goal of the meeting was to discuss the effect of the current conditions on the project.
The conference was attended by Eng. Mohamed Gamal, Head of the Area Projects Sector, Eng. Hala Mansour, Director General of the Civil Administration of the Delta Zone, Eng. Mohamed Arafa, Project Manager for the “Electricity” Delta Zone, Mr. Li Zhiyong, Deputy Project Director for ZTPC Company, Professor Mahmoud Shafiq, President of Moon General Contracting Company, Eng. Wael Mohamed, civil project manager for ZTPC, and Heba Shabana, project engineer in the Delta Electricity Sector.
During the meeting, Delta Zone officials thanked ZTPC and Mr. Li Zhiyong for their effective efforts to execute the project, speed up execution levels and good governance by overcoming all challenges given the difficulties faced by the global market as a whole due to the consequences of the Coronavirus.
The Precautionary Meeting discussed the major achievements and major works witnessed by the project, the status of supply of tasks and the achievements achieved so far, where 7 transformers with a capacity of 250 MVA were manufactured by Siemens, 2 transformers, 175 MV were manufactured by El Sewedy.
Moreover, They are currently planning to receive 3 40 MVA adapters manufactured by El Sewedy, 66 equipment and cables supplied, 220 KV GIS installed, 500 KV GIS equipment in progress.
Furthermore, The official in the region stated that the project is awaiting the remaining tasks imported from abroad, which have been delayed as a result of sluggish shipping operations due to the virus.
After the adjustment, the schedule was debated in accordance with the existing conditions.
At the end of the meeting, the leaders of the region thanked Mr. Li Zhiyong’s distinguished management and his successful on-site presence to contribute to the achievement of one of the most important Transformer Station projects in the Egyptian electricity transmission network.
