An official at the Petroleum Authority clarified that the refurbished devices devices 44, 45, 4 and device 5; bringing the number of rigs operating with Aramco to 10 by EDC.
Noting that the EDC 74 drilling rig, which has a capacity of 2000 hp and is operated by EDC, arrived in KSA on 10th of August, after the company had entered into a 5-year lease agreement with Aramco, and the EDC City drilling rig, with a capacity of 3000 hp, arrived in Aramco on 5th of September.
Drilling has gained a good reputation with Aramco, which has led the first oil company in the world to choose EDC over other companies due to its excellent performance and safety.
Worth mentioning that Eng, Chmn of EDC, Osama Kamel visited Saudi Arabia in mid-December last year to review the performance of the safety system at the workplace, including the drilling rig 43, and to ensure that best practices in the field of risk management and safety system leadership (Safety Leadership) at the workplace following, BBS and development processes, thus increasing employee engagement in the continuous improvement of the safety system. Moreover, the meeting with the officials from Aramco to discuss the increased cooperation between the drilling company and Aramco, had a major impact on the renewal process.
